People I admire

Changing Paths challenge day 28. People I admire.

(This is by no means a complete list of people I admire. Some of the people I admire are not famous but have spent a lifetime doing a thing in an admirable way.)

Aly Kravetz (Bronx Witch) — building community and hosting a great podcast and being an awesome person.

Starhawk — amazing books, a lifetime of activism, permaculture, and also got banned from I s r a e l for speaking up for the P a l e s t i n i a n s. Read her books, they’re awesome. Some of my faves: Dreaming the Dark, Truth or Dare, The Fifth Sacred Thing, City of Refuge, The Pagan Book of Living and Dying.

T Thorn Coyle — author, activist, and another person who lives their truth and walks their talk.

Peter Tatchell — a lifetime of activism for LGBT+ rights and human rights. Amazing work.

Rabbi Danya Ruttenberg — awesome writer, thinker, rabbi, and advocate for peace and justice and equality.

Daniel Everett — proof that it’s possible to change your mind. He went to evangelize the Pirahã, an Amazonian people, and ended up de-converting from Christianity and became a professor of linguistics instead.

My award winning book, Changing Paths, is published by 1000Volt Press and is available from all the usual online stores. Ask your local bookseller or library to stock it!

The goal of the book is to help you decide your own path by guiding you through the perils and pitfalls of the terrain, and asking questions to help you deepen your understanding of the reasons for your desire to change paths.
