Changing Paths challenge day 10: animals and birds.
I love animals and birds and Nature. It feels like such a privilege to see animals and birds in the wild. In our garden we have chipmunks and cardinals and robins and rabbits. We were once visited by a very floofy skunk. We have only seen one raccoon in the garden.
I love seeing sheep in the landscape. There arenโt enough sheep in Canada. I feel they complete a landscape.
I also adore cats. People who say that cats are not loving have obviously never spent any time with cats.
As a child, I remember asking my Dad if animals go to heaven. He said, of course they do. (Christian doctrine says they donโt. Booo!) I think this, and reading the Narnia books, was one of my first inklings of my Pagan tendencies.

My award-winning book, Changing Paths, is about changing your spiritual direction in response to oppressive practices in your current religion. How do you figure out if itโs a permanent break with your current religion or just a blip? The book helps you navigate leaving one religion and joining another (or not). Available from all online bookstores.
